1848 dumb organist labelled on case and on barrel 3: ‘T.C. BATES & SON, Organ Builders, 6 LUDGATE HILL, LONDON.’ Purchased from Wickham Bishops church for £6 by Canon F.W. Galpin, Rector of Faulkbourne 1921-33. It was first used on 25 September 1932 for the Harvest Festival service.There are three original boxes for the barrels & a more modern box for the dumb organist itself. Barrels refurbished in 1963 by Freddy Hill. Tunes recorded in 1996.Four colour-coded barrels x 8 tunes.
